Role: Social Media Designer, Tools for Peace
Challenge: Tools for Peace needed a steady stream of social media graphics to bring mindfulness concepts to life for their online audience on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, especially for the younger students they serve through their School Based Programs, Summer Teen Camp, and Compassionate Leadership Program. I was given roughly 250 pages of curriculum and guided meditations to study, then had to distill these often complex, wordy concepts, like recognizing emotions with gentleness, understanding the connection between compassion and joy, or practicing breath awareness, into simple, visual, easy to digest graphics that would resonate with a young audience and feel calming to come across on their social feed.
Results: I created a library of illustrated graphics, quotes, and prompts that turned dense curriculum material into approachable, everyday reminders of mindfulness practices, like recognizing thoughts without judgment or practicing loving kindness breathing. By pairing simple, warm illustrations with short, plain spoken text, the content became easier for a younger audience to connect with and return to, helping make mindfulness feel like a natural part of their day rather than an abstract lesson. This ongoing library of assets also gave the Tools for Peace team a consistent, on brand way to stay active on social media each week, reinforcing their presence and message to both supporters and the students they serve.
