Emily Bernath, a 2006 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with her BFA in Painting, grew up in Ventura, California and currently lives in Junction City. She is intrigued by the ways artists, writers, musicians and other creative people attempt to fill the void of human loss. She turns to her own arsenal of personal iconography to confront this and other struggles. Reluctant to decode her work, Emily finds that the viewer is still capable of extracting intended meaning, sharing with artist an elemental role in the human story.
